Training on Main- October 2007
Riverton Fire and EMS trained on a house in Spaulding, IL in late October. Training included officer training, RIT (Rapid Intervention Team), Self Extrication, Overhaul, and Ventilation Techniques. These classes were held on Wednesday nights and offered a hands on approach to techniques and skills learned in the classroom setting.

Williamsville Structure Fire- October 2007
Riverton Fire and EMS responded to a structure fire on Saturday the 27th of October for a Structure fire in Williamsville, IL. Riverton responded with a full engine crew, tanker crew, and 2 chief officers.

Francis Lane Fire- October 2007
Riverton Fire and EMS responded to a structure fire on Saturday the 20th. Responding units included Riverton, Dawson and Williamsville fire. Upon arrival fire was found to be contained to a basement bedroom.

Fire Prevention- September 2007
Riverton Fire and EMS has been doing fire prevention for many years and has invited the Riverton Elementary School to tour Fire Station One in the past for fire prevention week. With the generous help from Chatham Fire Department the fire department borrowed their Fire Prevention House in order to allow the children of the district to have a more hands on learning experience.

Fire Fighter II Course- September 2007
Riverton Fire and EMS hosted a Firefighter II class instructed by Mike Abbot of Dawson Fire. This course graduated 6 members of Riverton Fire and EMS while 2 other members were also recognized for receiving their State Firefighter II Certification.

Madison St./Barclay Fires- August 2007
Thursday Aug. 9th Riverton Responded to Madison street for a structure fire.
On Saturday Aug. 11th Riverton responded to a Barn fire in Barclay, IL.

PHRN Extrication Class- July 2007
Riverton Fire and EMS hosted a PHRN Extrication class at R and S Towing. PHRN is a bridge course for Registered Nurses to be able to practice in the field.

Riverton Fire and EMS along with Sherman Fire and Rescue participated in a propane fire extinguishment demonstration at the 2007 Springfield Fire Show on June 29th.

Riverton Fire and EMS respond as mutual aid to a fire in Sherman. Riverton Fire and EMS provided an Engine and Tanker Supply plus command.
